Players support fund
At Locksheath Pumas RFC, community is at the heart of who we are. Rugby is a sport built on commitment, courage and looking after one another — and that responsibility doesn’t stop when a player gets injured.
While the RFU provides a level of insurance cover, it often doesn’t go far enough, particularly for players without additional personal insurance. Injuries can bring unexpected financial pressure, and as a club rooted in supporting our players, we want to ensure no Puma faces that challenge alone.

Introducing the Players Support Fund
To strengthen the safety net available to our players, we have established the Locksheath Pumas RFC Players Support Fund — a dedicated fund designed to provide financial assistance to players who suffer injury and need extra support during recovery.
This initiative was championed by Phil Nuttall, who now serves as our Players Support Fund Ambassador. Phil will oversee the fund alongside the Club Committee, ensuring that support is provided fairly, transparently and in line with the Puma values.
How You Can Help
The Players Support Fund relies on the generosity of our members, supporters and wider community. Donations can be made directly via our Club Treasurer, and as a registered Community Amateur Sport Club (CASC), we are able to reclaim Gift Aid, increasing the impact of every contribution.
Every donation, large or small, helps us protect the players who give so much to our club both on and off the pitch.
Standing Together
Rugby is a team sport, and when one of us is hurt, all of us step forward. The Players Support Fund is a practical expression of that spirit, ensuring that no Puma faces hardship alone and that our club continues to live its values both on and off the pitch.
If you would like to contribute or learn more about how the fund operates, please contact our Treasurer (treasurer@locksheathpumas.com) or speak to Phil Nuttall directly.
